The aims of this lesson plan are to make the students active in the learning process and give them a new and creative way to learn English. So they can enjoy and gain great interest in the learning process. In this section I decided to use Duolingo rather than others application/tools.
Duolingo is a free language-learning platform that includes a language-learning website and app along with a crowdsourced text translation platform and a language proficiency assessment center. Duolingo is ad-free and offers all its language courses free of charge. The language-learning website and app offer over 50 different language courses across 23 languages; more than 30 additional courses are in development. The app is available on iOS, Android and Windows 8 and 10 platforms with over 100 million registered users across the world.
In this occasion the teacher gives the App to the students, they can use Duolingo as a supplementary media for the students, or in one in two weeks, the teacher can use the computer laboratory to learn English using Duolingo. The use of Computer-Mediated Communication is giving many advantages. According to Warschauer (1996), he conducted a study on ‘Motivational aspects of using computers for writing and communication.’
