NETIQUETTE

Based on the article that I have read from Schoology group discussion, I can conclude that netiquette means respecting other users’or readers’ views and displaying good manners or polite behavior when posting your ideas to online discussion groups. I also read other articles. I got information that the word netiquette is a combination of ’net’ (from internet) and ’etiquette’.

In recent years, the web technology is getting popular with a tremendous speed. As the time the progressing of online lesson or group discussion is making interest to the educators, education department, legislator, and another policy maker. In line with the development of internet technology, the users should attend to netiquette rules. For instance, Private emails or messages from other people shouldn't be published without their permission.

In my opinion, netiquette is taking the important role to keep you (netter) to maintain and establish positive online relationships. By following netiquette, online communication becomes clearer. Because communication online is non-verbal. The netter just reading the written text that someone else has typed. This kind of communication does not allow each person to see the facial expression, body language, and the intonation. So, the message can often be misinterpreted. Because of that, netiquette is very important to avoid the bad impact of using the internet.

With dealing and following the netiquette, will keep you (netter) to maintain and establish positive online relationships.
